The Myrtle Beach Super Regional begins today. Coastal Carolina is the host to South Carolina in a two out of three winner take all for a trip to the College World Series. All games are sold out. It should be a great weekend.
For the teams, this is what they have played for all year. That and nothing more. Powerhouse South Carolina is playing for another trip to Omaha – a place they camped out in for the first part of the 2000′s. For underdog Coastal, it means a chance to get there for the first time.
For the fans, at least some fans in Horry County, it is something more. It is making a choice. It’s deciding on teal or garnet, on pulling for the Cocks or the Chants. For some, it’s not an easy choice. For others, it was made decades ago because it’s a generational thing.
