The committee has spoken. The top 8 seeds have been named and the field has been filled. The Coastal Carolina Baseball team received the number 4 national seed. It was a historic moment for Coastal as they continue to set new heights. Not only is this the highest ranking Coastal has received, I believe it is the highest ever for any mid major conference school.
Coastal will host a regional at Myrtle Beach. The regional is made up of four teams with the winner advancing to a super regional. Coastal is the number one seed and will host: College of Charleston, #2; N.C. State, #3; and Stony Brook, #4.
There is a bit of familiarity with these teams. Coastal played Stony Brook in Conway a couple of years ago. They played N.C. State earlier this year at BB&T Coastal Field. The Chants played a home-and-home series this year with College of Charleston. The Coastal home game ironically was also played at BB&T.
Coastal plays Stony Brook at 1:00 p.m. on Friday June 2, 2010. NC State and CofC go at it at 7:00 p.m. The winners play Saturday at 7:00 while the losers start at 1:00.
I’ll have at least one more post before first pitch.
