S.C. officer charged with DUI after patrol car crash

The title to this post is the headline from an article in the Sun News breaking news today. According to the article, an Orangeburg County deputy was charged with driving under the influence after crashing a patrol car:

Authorities told multiple media outlets that Robert Ayers was arrested Wednesday night after running into a ditch south of Orangeburg. He was off duty.

The officer failed several sobriety tests and refused to take the breathalyzer test. He is the second S.C. officer charged with DUI this week.
